Daisho : Dotanuki(big blade) and Wakizashi(small blade) paired to proffer both offense and defence.

Dotanuki
Japanese battle sword, nameless. Its edges are all chipped and dulled by frequent misuse. Forged by a weaponsmith who has a penchant for dragon motif.

Wakizashi
Typical side-arm with shorter blade, nameless.


Instinct : Does not come with frills. 100% pure unadulterated instinct.

FIGHTING STYLE: Rogan uses both the wakizashi(left hand) and dotanuki(right hand) simultaneously. In battle they are never exchanged between left and right.
Though not the best swordsman, Rogan specialises in speed and strength of slicing rather than stance or discipline.
Unarmed, he fights tooth and nail. He has no technique in hand-to-hand combat.



JAPAN : Jenny(female(?) companion) had opened a peddler's stall, offering steamed goods, like steamed meat-buns, steamed buns, chinese dumplings and porridge. Rogan is most likely to be found around this place.

HISTORY

Due to a shaving accident, Rogan has been living with one-and-a-quarter eyebrows for the best part of 8 years. It too had cut his tongue, causing him to dislike chewing and hence lives off porridge.. or dogmeat if he can get it.
(he used to be middle-weight.. I think lack of better nutrition and a diet caused him to shed some/many inches.)

Part manchurian/Korean in birth, he grew up in Korea as a scholar and became an diplomat at the age of 17. His name was originally Gan-bae.
Duties meted out for him included circulating slave trades in western countries and peeling potatoes. Naturally, he would have a mouth dripping with honey and sugar..
though recently, he hasn't been saying much words.

'Gan-bae' had cultivated a cynical view of man and woman, and often treat ladies as an inferior race.. to an extent he abuses every female he encounters.

Internal skirmishes in the wild West had him board a boat back to his homeland, until a junk docking for Japan intercepted them for a period. The 'girls' on board convinced him that his career should end there and then..
With 'Gan-bae' lying in the bottom of the ocean, and 24-year-old, newly-named and no-regrets 'Rogan' on the way to Nippon.
